Venice Bienalle of Architecture XIV

The DO ARCHITECTS team are, as most architects, very excited to visit the highly anticipated Venice Bienalle of Architecture. The 2014 Bienalle promises to be an impressive display of architecture curated by Rem Koolhaas (a former teacher of Andrė Baldišiūtė!). All of the national pavilions are organised under one theme: Absorbing Modernity. The event also includes Fundamentals - a look back at some of architecture’s most basic components as a means of examining the history of design in the evolution of societies. Koolhaas’ concept is for a Biennale that is more “a vehicle for research than an exhibition.”

Through visiting the Bienalle DO ARCHITECTS expands their contemporary and historic architectural knowledge and draws inspiration for future projects.

Rotterdam Bienalle of Architecture 2014

The project Collective Gardens Revival by PuPa proposes a new approach and development vision for allotment garden communities, the so called 'collective gardens' in Vilnius, Lithuania. Collective gardens became extremely popular throughout eastern Europe during soviet times, but have since transformed from agricultural communities into living neighbourhoods.

During the workshop each of the participating architects propose a single family house project of high architectural quality to be adapted to a collective garden context. DO ARCHITECTS introduce their Svencelė 5D1 House as a progressive suburban housing typology.

WorldExpo 2015 Lithuania Pavilion competition

DO ARCHITECTS unveils its design proposal for the Lithuanian Pavilion at WorldExpo 2015 in Milan, Italy. The team envisions Lithuania as small yet brave, courageous, progressive and dynamic country. For Lithuania, the input of every person is critical, each citizen is the country itself. The main concept of the pavilion therefore deals with the visitor experience and interaction, with every person who enters feeling the weight of each step as a decision they are making inside the building.
