A mysterious multi-layered house is emerging in the forest of Pasakiškės. Seven partly enclosed courtyards enter the perfect volume of the house, breaking its strict geometry and accentuating the physical transition between interior and exterior. The courtyards reduce the depth of the building, allowing natural light to penetrate deeper into the house and, in some places, entirely through it. The courtyards add quality to the rooms surrounding them, providing light, warmth and a connection to the natural surroundings.
The building itself forms a barrier to the street, its courtyards creating several layers of visual transparency, the gaze of the eye naturally filtered – drawn from outside, through courtyard, to interior space.
