The generously proportioned rooms of the apartment in Arklių street give the impression of space in the cosy Old Town apartment. Its layout is simple - the internal walls have been removed to reveal spacious and bright rooms. There are no right angles in the apartment - typical of the building structure in this historical context. A small window opening was created in the corner of the bathroom, providing a view to an inner courtyard and a mystical source of natural light. A cowhide and timber ceilings bring a unique cosiness to the spaces, while the restored double glazed timber windows conjure memories of ancestral traditions. Arklių street, meaning 'Horse' street, derives its name from the old horse market that was located outside the city walls to which it leads. Opening the windows invites every rhythmical step and sensuous dialogue of the historical street below into the apartment.
